When this story appeared, robotic surgery was somewhat unknown. The actual robotic arm looks alarming. I created this illustration to lighten the burden of this procedure by stylizing the mechanical arms and creating a figure as a diagram.
Motorcycles can cause horrific injuries. I chose a battered cycle photograph and used Photoshop to add skid marks, reinforcing the crashes effect. When I added the tires marks, it occurred to me that if I altered the type, the design would get a greater impact.
